In remembrance of those who lost their lives on September 11th, 2001, both the NYSE and NASDAQ will hold separate Moments of Silence today, Thursday, September 11, 2008. The NYSE will hold a Moment of Silence from 9:25 to 9:26 am ET and the NASDAQ Stock Market® will observe a moment of silence from 10:29 to 10:30 am ET, to coincide with the fall of the second tower.

We invite you to join us in these moments of silent remembrance. Since trading will not be halted during this time, NASDAQ requests that market participants use their best judgment and sensitivity in regards to trading during the moment of silence.

While we must never forget the events of September 11th, 2001, we must look to the future and continue to support those in uniform throughout the world who risk their well being to protect us.
