September 10, 2002
One
year after the terrorist attacks on the United States, our nation
and the world have shown great compassion, strength and resolve
in the face of unprecedented acts of violence. Our quest for freedom,
justice and the will of the American people remains strong.
On September 11, 2002, our great nation and the world will stop
to honor and remember the innocent victims of that fateful day one
year ago. As we bow our heads to reflect upon the tragic events
of that day, our thoughts and prayers will go out to the families
and friends of those who lost their lives at the World Trade Center,
the Pentagon and the fields of Pennsylvania.
Mastertrader.com salutes the brave individuals that sacrificed
their lives and well being for others. Our thoughts will always
remain with their families, friends and loved ones.
In tribute to all of those affected by the events of this day the
United States stock markets will open later than usual:
The New York Stock Exchange will open 30 minutes after the conclusion
of the memorial service being held at the World Trade Center site
that is tentatively scheduled to end at 10:29 a.m. EST. The remaining
exchanges and ECNs, including the Nasdaq market, are scheduled to
open at 11:00 a.m. EST. The Island ECN is scheduled to begin accepting
orders at 10:50 a.m. EST.
As we pay our respects, it is essential to take a moment to reassess
what is important to us and be sure to keep them close in our lives
and hearts.
May you and your families remain strong, safe and prosperous.
